A few years ago, I had the pleasure of being invited to the launch of a Workplace Mental Health program. I joined our colleagues in the NGA Service Center in St Johns, Canada, for the kickoff of “Not Myself Today
“. It’s a program that helps employees express themselves, especially when things aren’t going well for them, and offers support through tools and resources.
Employee well-being programs are the top new workplace perks. You won’t be surprised to learn that mental health apps are on a roll - sales are up and a large number of companies secured additional funding to accelerate their growth.
Mental Health Awareness Month is a good time to explore the topic. Do people feel safe enough to ask for help in the workplace, when they struggle with mental health issues? How can employers support them? How good are apps in helping employees manage mental health issues and can they deliver what they claim?
